About Us

welcome to hood insurance agency

Patty Hood opened Hood Insurance Agency in February of 2011 after working for several different agencies in both the independent and captive arena. Patty's goal was to build an agency with her own personal stamp on it, and to serve her local mountain community in Eagle, CO. Edgar Chairez joined the agency in August 2020 to help Patty better serve her clients as well as the latino families and business owners in the area.

Meet patty hood

I grew up in a small town in Northern Indiana and loved being from a small town.  Living out west was a dream of mine, and I was able to move to Eagle in 2001. I love the small town atmosphere and Eagle is a great fit for me.

It has always been vitally important to me to build relationships with my clients and create an environment where people feel appreciated and valued. I am a local, hometown agent, and I feel as a local business owner that I have a commitment to support the community in which I live and enjoy.

Meet edgar chairez

I started working for Hood Insurance Agency in August of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. Since joining Hood Insurance Agency, I have very much enjoyed working closely with my clients to help them with their insurance needs. As an insurance broker, I have access to several carriers. This allows our agency to customize our client’s insurance solutions, while providing them with more options and choices.

Please call or email me if you would like a quote, ask questions, or just get acquainted. I’d love to have the opportunity to help you with your insurance needs.

Commercial/business

An auto insurance policy is comprised of six different kinds of coverage. Most states require you to buy some, but not all, of these coverages. If you're financing a car, your lender may also have requirements.

Auto insurance provides property, liability and medical coverage:

  • Property coverage pays for damage to or theft of your car.

  • Liability coverage pays for your legal responsibility to others for bodily injury or property damage.

  • Medical coverage pays for the cost of treating injuries, rehabilitation and sometimes lost wages and funeral expenses.

To protect employers from lawsuits resulting from workplace accidents and to provide medical care and compensation for lost income to employees hurt in workplace accidents, in almost every state, businesses are required to buy workers compensation insurance.

Workers compensation insurance covers workers:

  • Injured on the job

  • Hurt on the workplace premises or elsewhere

  • Hurt in auto accidents while on business.

  • Work-related illnesses.

General Liability pays losses arising from real or alleged bodily injury, property damage, or personal injury on your business premises or arising from your operations.

Broad Range of General Liability Protection

  • Bodily Injury, including the cost of care, the loss of services, and the restitution for any death that results from injury.

  • Property Damage coverage for the physical damage to property of others or the loss of use of that property.

  • Products-Completed Operations provides liability protection (damages and legal expenses up to your policy's limit) if an injury ever resulted from something your company made or service your company provided.

It is important to know that homeowners insurance is meant to cover unexpected damage, not routine maintenance. Ask your agent to talk about what is covered and be sure to read your policy so you know exactly what's included and what is not.

  • If your home was destroyed by fire or damaged by a natural disaster, you'd need money to repair or replace it.

  • If a guest in your home is injured, liability protection and medical coverage help pay expenses.

  • If you are a victim of theft and vandalism, it can reimburse you for your loss or pay for repairs.

  • If you are still paying for your home, your lender will require insurance.

No one really wants to think about life insurance. But if someone depends on you financially, it’s a topic you can’t avoid. In the event of a tragedy, life insurance proceeds can:

  • Pay for funeral costs

  • Help pay the bills and meet ongoing living expenses

  • Pay off outstanding debt, including credit cards and the mortgage

  • Continue a family business

  • Finance future needs like your children’s education

  • Protect a spouse’s retirement plans

A Business Owner's Policy (BOP) is an affordable insurance package for small businesses that bundles General Liability Insurance and Commercial Property Insurance.

Basically, BOP Insurance protects your business by covering some of the most common risks it faces, including:

  • Lawsuits over customer injuries or property damage.

  • Lawsuits over defamation, copyright infringement, slander, and other advertising injuries.

  • Damage to your equipment, furniture, and other business property.
